What is the CornerStone Foundation?

The CornerStone Foundation is a political action committee (PAC) that, since its inception in 2008, has operated with the specific goal of promoting candidates and ballot measures that support and defend the traditional conservative values that made this country great. We have typically done that by sending direct monetary contributions, but we also plan to make independent expenditures on behalf of conservative candidates (such as by putting out mailers or commercials) in the future, as funds allow.

CornerStone Foundation is so named because we believe traditional values are the cornerstone to the moral foundation of society. Without a solid moral foundation, nations have crumbled and succumbed to anarchy or despotism. CornerStone aims to restore our coun try’s conservative foundation, starting here in Washington State.

Why focus on conservative principles?

There has been an ongoing breakdown of morality in society. Our country was founded on conservative principles, as the Declaration of Independence states: “When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them.”

Those principles have been systematically undermined primarily by corrupt leadership, and they have spent our state and our country deep into debt. Our goal is to promote those who understand how crucial morality and fiscal responsibility is to the survival of our state and our country, so they can renew that foundation and reverse the downward trend we have been on for too long.

Reagan said it best in his “Time for Choosing” speech:

“We’re at war with the greatest enemy that has ever faced mankind…and it’s been said that if we lose this war and in so doing, lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening…You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last, best hope of men on earth, or we will sentence them to take the last leap into a thousand years of darkness…”

In these times, we are never far from the brink of tyranny. Too much is at stake for us to allow ourselves to be complacent. Each election is merely a battle in the war for the preservation of this country as we know it.
